The Credit Reporting Agencies offer subscriptions to their credit watching programs which is suggested. You will find out what is being reported on your credit reports and you will have the opportunity to dispute any negative information that is being listed when they notify you via email.

Once you start the process then you are on your way to clearing up negative information on your reports and cleaning up your credit history of potential inaccuracies.
